Should You Use Google AdWords to Drive Traffic to Your Website?

For any online home business owner, having highly targeted traffic has to be one of the most important strategies. Even a retail shop needs traffic to help sell. Often, the success of your website won't be due to its presentation. If no-one can reach it, see it or even know it exists then you are pretty much doomed.
For some, being able to attract targeted traffic is a task that they don't want to even think about. Thankfully, there are many internet marketing tools, even software and programs, which can help any website owned to help drive as much traffic to their website as possible. A very popular one is administered by Google and is known as Google AdWords.
Because Google is considered the largest search engine around it seems obvious that there is going to always be good traffic available from it. By being able to get high on Google rankings will mean that you should get good, free targeted traffic without having to pay a cent for the privilege. However, this will take time to achieve and for some they want to start making money right away.
Google can offer anyone their AdWords service. It is an option that allows any business online to advertise products to a targeted audience, specifically based on keywords. Some say that Google AdWords can even guarantee instant traffic. By displaying relevant text or written ads throughout the various search engine results (many referred to as "Sponsored Links"), you can reach your audience and potential customers all the time. By selecting certain keywords which the Google surfer will type, so your ad will appear. Not only that, but your ad can appear on other peoples websites who have placed code provided by Google on their website or webpage, to show certain ads that contain your keywords.
However, this service is not free. You will need some form of budget - small, medium or large. It will need to be affordable and effective so you can essentially make a profit from the budget. As well as budget, you need to determine what will be the maximum cost per click you are willing to pay for. There will be recommended cost per click, but the choice is yours - you can choose more or less. Some say that usually the number one position on a search engine result isn't the best because it attracts unwanted traffic and often useless clicks. However, the number two position tends to be preferred as for some reason it will filter the useless clicks from the good ones and ultimately provide traffic with a much better conversion rate.
